When anyone hears the name of Rajasthan, only one thing comes to mind, that is the royal culture with the most brilliant architectures of fort and palaces with world-class hospitality. Just like all the things I told earlier, this state is also famous worldwide for its spooky tales which are associated with some of the ancient forts and palaces. Let’s dive a little deeper into this post to know about the most haunted places in Rajasthan and its spooky tales.

  1. Bhangarh Fort

    There is hardly anyone who hasn’t heard about this most haunted fort of India. Bhangarh Fort is in the Alwar district of Rajasthan and it’s built around in the 17th century by Bhagwant Das for his younger son named Madho Singh. Ratnavati, yeah I know many of you guys may have heard this story, if not read further, Princess of this fort was too beautiful and one black magician named Singhia secretly loves the princess and is always trying to get Ratnavati as his life partner. After lots of effort and all the ways got failed then he took the help of his black magic to get her. One day, While Ratnavati was out in the market of Bhangarh and looking for some good perfumes, Singhia did some black magic on the perfume so that the princess will immediately get hypnotize and come to Singhia herself but, somehow Ratnavati knew about this and throw that perfume on the rock near her and instead of the princess the rock started rolling and killed the black magician. During his last breath, he cursed that the kingship will fall and it will never be reconstructed. After a few days, Bhangarh and Ajaibgarh got into war together and in this war, Bhangarh destroyed completely and lost all the people living here including Ratnavati. Even the ASI (Archeological Survey of India) restricted the entry of everyone after sunset and before sunrise. The world-famous Paranormal Investigator and the founder of the Indian Paranormal Society named Gaurav Tiwari investigated this place.

    Long back when child marriage (Bal Vivah) was in vogue in India, a 5 days old newborn baby girl was going to be tied in the relation of marriage with 3 years old boy. The mother of the girl stood against the marriage of her child and ran away from that place, towards the highway in a hope to escape the village but due to being struck by a vehicle, she and her child died on the spot. When three friends were passing from there encountered the lady ghost having a baby girl with her, boarded their vehicle, and started guiding them the way outside the village. This incident took more than 15-20 minutes with them and still haunts them. This place is also infamous as the Road that asks for blood.

    Kota city of Rajasthan is situated on the bank of the Chambal river. In Kota there is a very old hotel named Brijraj Bhawan Palace which was built approximately 180 years ago and it was the residence of the royal family of Kota. One day the royal family vacates this palace, why? No-one Knows. Thereafter this palace has been converted into a hotel. You must know about the little history about this haunted palace but trust us you guys don’t want to miss this. It is the story of 1844 when Major Burton of the Indian British Army was living with the royal family in this palace. After 13 years, during the war at mutiny between Britishers and Indian Sepoys in 1857, Major Burton was killed by the Indian Sepoys in the Brijraj Bhawan palace. Since then people have claimed they have seen the ghost of a headless British soldier. Guard of this royal hotel claimed, he has been slapped by some unknown force while he got a nap at night.

    Sudhabay is located near Pushkar in Ajmer district of Rajasthan. Trust me there is no place in Sudhabay which is haunted, but why Sudhabay is considered as the haunted place will give you goosebumps and you can’t afford to visit this place. Let’s dive in, to find why Sudhabay is considered as one of the most haunted places of Rajasthan. Sudhabay Kund is the holy lake in this village which is believed that if someone is possessed by an evil spirit or any paranormal power can be relieved if they take a bath in this river. Not always but there is a special day when Ghost Fair is celebrated and mass exorcism takes place. Here people get relieved from the spirit and some people get possessed also while practicing exorcism.

  5. Rana Kumbha Palace

    This palace is located in Chittorgarh and popular for its secret passages and chamber along with the name of being one of the haunted places in Rajasthan. This palace was the home of queen Padmavati. If you guys have seen the movie Padmavat then you know the beauty of the queen attracted the eyeballs of Allauddin Khilji, and also know that instead of surrendering the queen performed the Jauhar along with her 700 followers. Since then people claim that they have seen the royal dressed lady with a burnt face and few people claim they heard the pain of Jauhar in the loud screams coming from this place.
